The damnedest things happen when you are on the road. Two days ago, in Albany Oregon, Phil Zimmerman and I were standing by our Westies just after eating lunch. A guy walks up and asks if we wanted to buy an '85 Dehler Profi camper! Actually, he asked if we knew anyone that might want to buy it. $4,900!! We arranged to meet the next day to look at it, pictures here.

Summing up, the odometer reads 81,000 but I doubt it. The VIN is in the picture of the door plate if anyone can run a Carfax. Looks like a 1.9LWBX. with air (don't know if it works), Profi interior with two reefers, both apparently electric only. Looks like a gasoline Eberspser (SP?) heater has been removed but a propane cat heater is mounted on the wall in the 'living space'. Sink and water tank, couldn't figure out if there is a gray water tank. But, no stove. There is a storage space under the bed for something about the size of a Coleman two burner, and attachment points to mount the stove outside tail-gate style with the back hatch up. Body and all the plastic trim in good shape, some sign of attempts to deal with either leaks or rust where the top attaches but just a couple of spots. Interior shows a lot of use and you would want to do some cleaning. Drivers seat needs some upholstery work. Lots of storage and dual battery setup. Even has a television (CRT w/DVD player) mounted in the front storage area. Two skylights, one in the middle, one over the front seats.

I have no interest in this at all, just doing the guy a favor by posting to the lists. He has two other VW based campers.

If I were looking for a new rig right now, I'd grab it for myself. Based on what little I know of these but knowing how rare they are in the US, I think this is worth more than he is asking.

DON'T CONTACT ME, I HAVE NO MORE INFO THAN I'VE POSTED HERE.
