I have switched to triple squares and think they are much less prone to strip, although it is important to clean either of these types out before attempting removal. Torque the bolts properly going in to prevent loosening from vibration, from under torque, and later stripping on removal attempts for over torque. Proper torque is 33 ft lbs.

In fact, I have never stripped a triple point, but that isn't much of a sample size and most, though not all, of the ones I have removed were my installs coming out for the first or second time.

If you have stripped 6mm Allen types, you can file down a 7 mm and hammer it in to get them out as was mentioned, but a 1/4 inch hex head bit is also larger, though closer to the 6mm than the 7mm, so no filing is required. Put it on the head of an impact driver with an extension and pound away. Learned that one from Ben Huot's web page I think. The 1/4 inch hex head bit is easy to find at FLAPS and it is often sold labeled as a brake tool if there is not a full set of Allen head tools.

All the newer CV boot kits that I have gotten from list vendors over the last few years have had triple square bolts.
