There are a couple of spots where, yes I wouldn't think it a good idea to run the antenna cable. However, in my detailed message, I did mention a spot that works. Why?

it works because at that point in the roof, there is an angle change in the roof. The aluminum strip holding the canvas in place does not clamp tight to roof at that point. In other words, even fully tightened down, there is a little bit of gap. More than enough for the tiny coax cable that a sirius radio antenna consists of. I would not put a RG-59 coax through that spot (standard size cable for CB radios), but the sirius radio is fine.
