Hi All, I know this is going to sound just like the stories Gramps use to tell us about it being uphill both ways on his 5 mile trek to school...but... Just as a matter of conversation & no bragging intended, And just to illustrate that it can be done and that it is being done by thousands as we speak. But for three years, back when I was young ( 46 ) I rode my bike to work at the U of U. Uphill ( going there ) 9 miles and after work, back. Summer And winter. I just put snow tires on for winter. My favorite story is during a terrible snow storm ( of 94 :o) And more as a Lark, I still rode my bike in ( love a challenge ) As I walked my bike into the shop There were all of the guys bragging up their 4X4's My Ford's better than your Chevy sort of stuff! Should a' seen their jaws drop!!! And, because of that conditioning, that fall, in sweat pants, running shoes & Crampons, and for my 47th birthday, I pretty much jogged all of the way to the top of Mt Rainier. Passing groups of climbers in their $3 K outfits! What fun! I'm just trying to say. do it! Just for the Health of it !!! Doubt yer cig, put down yer beer (that one was for me :o) Turn off the TV, the Computer, Get out of your car, ( no matter how many miles to the gallon you get ) someplace where the air's half way clean & groove to the move. Experience the body ! ( while we still can ) (use it or loose it) glass is half full, folks :o) peaceout, John C... SLC, UT... 85 Westy; Sitar
