Remember that the pedal is not connected directly to the master. I would
just install the master and then if there is a problem, deal with it. If
it was OK before, the new master will be close enough. Better to have a
little extra play then to have a problem with the piston in the master
returning all the way home.

I feel like it has a little too much play.  About an inch of pedal
travel
before the pushrod I see in the vacuum booster starts to move.  It
doesn't
look like it would be possible to measure or adjust this per Bentley
with
the booster and bracket in the van.  : (
