Bentley says to first loosen up on the left drive flange(not correct nomenclature) adjustment nut ,to lessen stress on the spline. Anyone care to comment on this? How much to loosen? Can I just remove the housing without loosening up on this piece? I typed "clutch housing" into the archives and got about 10 responses. Most about some cracked housing on a syncro.
Also, how can I determin ring and pinion wear with the housing removed? Is there any picture of good and worn rings? Seems I saw one in the Bentley, but I cannot now find them. How about any play or tolerances that can be measured while the housing is off? Thanks
