Yeah,I gotta say there's no way I would have been able to keep my cranky ol' Vanagon if our other car wasn't a 94 Honda Civic. Vaguely uncomfortable, no character at all, but it gets 30+mpg and asks nothing but oil changes and tires. Well, it needed belts once and a new radiator, but those were incredibly cheap and i changed 'em myself. My only complaint is that it took 2 hours to weasel three belts onto that engine because it's shoehorned in so tightly. Radiator only took 10 minutes though. 2 bolts (on top!), 4 hoses, and it pulled right out. Something not quite fair about a car that makes it easier to change the radiator than to change the belts... -- John Bange '90 Vanagon - "Geldsauger"
