It's been a few years since I replaced my antenna but I don't remember it being at all tricky.

I think I removed my instrument cluster ... undid the old antenna with the external nut ... unplugged the wire from the radio (pulling the ashtray out of the dash for access) then pulling the old one out the front ... making sure nothing hung up on the under dash wiring.

Like I said, it's been awhile and I'm not sure if I pulled the driver's side headlight but doing so would give you access to where the cable goes through the firewall.

Another way would be to tie a line on the radio end of the cable before pulling it out the front. Then putting the same line on the radio end of the new cable and pulling it through the firewall.
