That's because they're unimpressive. SA VW manufactured a great heavy duty mud flap for the Vanagon and still may but they are difficult to find stateside. Occassionally I have seen them on ebay. It is a heavy duty mud flap that mounts INSIDE the wheel well where a mud flap belongs--NOT the fool hearty 4 inches behind the wheel well. These heavy duty SA mudflaps were available on the SA Vanagon until production ended in 2002 (?) I believe. You can see them in the SA brochure from 1997. Go to: _http://vwpix.terlinden.com/_ (http://vwpix.terlinden.com/) Then click on "Sudafrika" on the left of the page and then click on "1997_00_VWBus" in the menu. Then click on the pics of the Busses and you'll see them mounted there. These mud flaps will not work all that easily in the rear with fiberglass bumpers, although can fit with some modification to the bumper or the bumper mount me thinks. And there would be more modification necessary to use the heavy duty mudflaps with the side cladding. In other words they are designed for use with a metal bumper. Ready for a part number? Volkswagen of South Africa 225 821 833 Mudflap- Left side That's the only part number I have. The other three I'm guessing have similar part numbers but I don't have access to that information.
