Hi David:

There is someone from the Inernational Westfalia Club in Quebec that makes a front hitch for the Westy/Vanagon (~$120 CDN) (2" adapter I think)

Frank you remember his name?

In matter of fact I think there is a used one for sale not to far from me.

The better front hitch I have seen has an adapter mounted on each beam. Therefore 2 attachment points. Ad 2 U channels across and an upright to hold the 2 bikes up and you have a beautiful setup; no sway and removable (therefore access to the spare). I just wish I had a picture of this set up.

I certainly don't have the design completed, since I'm just working from a basic idea right now. One of my concerns is the front ground clearance via 'angle of attack' that I'll lose. Anyways, check it out if you can and let me know your thoughts. I'll try refining the site and/or pictures as I can. > > David Wilhite > 84' Westy > 87' Stripped Syncro > Middle TN > > > -- > No virus found in this incoming message. > Checked by AVG Free Edition. > Version: 7.1.385 / Virus Database: 268.5.1/328 - Release Date: 5/1/06 > >
