Actually, the cure for my balky throttle position switch was to pull the throttle body and give it a good internal cleaning (with spray can FLAPS carb cleaner). The TPS is sensitive enough that gunk buildup between the throttle plate and the throttle body can interfere with proper switch operation.

Just something to try before making finicky adjustments or buying new switches.
