The geometry of the standard steering (as determined by the steering knuckles) does indeed require (allow?) more turns of the steering wheel to go from lock to lock.

With a power steering rack, this results in even less steering effort than the factory power steering setup.

The coupler from the steering wheel shaft to the steering rack is different for power steering so make sure you get that.
