Subject: Welding S&S Exhaust ??
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed

Hi all:

In an effort to postpone an expensive exhaust replacement, I'm wondering if it would be possible to weld a "crack" in my S&S exhaust setup? See links to pics below. The crack travels around almost 50% of the circumference of the pipe. It is the pipe that joins to 4 to 1 junction to the cat, but near the 4 to 1 end. Unlike to stock setup, the S&S one does not have a "collector/manifold". I was hoping to get it welded "in place", since removing the pipe seems unlikely. I "foolishly" attempted a muffler cement/hose clamp repair, but it would not stick. http://geoexploits.com/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=1149

My muffler is not S&S, and I "think" the crack occurred because I only have the right-side muffler hanger, and no left one...

Thanks Tom
