All true - all across the U.S. However, despite the efforts of people like my great-grandfather who participated in the Oklahoma Land Run, the Indians are very much still here in Oklahoma. Oklahoma has the largest Native American population of any state -- over a quarter million. Sometimes the government's plan to eliminate the Indian backfired - such as when they gave worthless land to the Osage Tribe up here near Ponca and it turned out there was black gold in them thar Oklahoma hills. The Osage are the richest tribe in North America (or were before casinos). Lots more interesting Indian history here, but now I must go (Vanagon content) hop in the A.B. to go meet Joy for dinner!

You could substitute 'America' for 'Oklahoma' and still be right on point. As for the gathering spot recommendation, perhaps we should have designated you the 'official list scout' back when we were discussing the whole thing- don't know who would be in a better position to do it. : )
