Subject: Injectors - replace or keep? Rusty Bolts
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="ISO-8859-1"

Hello and happy Friday to all,

I have a question regarding injectors. I recently had my van in at 2 different shops, one a vw shop the other a non vw shop.

The Non-Vw shop told me I need to replace the injectors and the clamps as they were rusty. (I drove over the vw shop to hear their opinion)

The VW shop owner who is a past VW dealer repair head mechanic told me not to worry about, they clamps are a bit rusty but them have been holding an injectors are working fine so donıt mess with it. Yes he told me the clamps should be replaced eventually but it was not urgent.

Whatıs your take?

New injectors and clamps or just new clamps?

The looked at the injectors and the sides of them where the ring is, is definitely deteriorating a bit but them seem solid.

I was going to purchase some used injectors off the samba that are in good shape.

Your thoughts?

Also how do I get a bolt off that is totally rusted? I was trying to put on new fiberglass bumper supports and the metal support has a single bolt that is rusted tight!
