Subject: Idle issues - cold is fine, warm is high
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="ISO-8859-1"

So I have been taking the van on some long and short drives lately and have been noticing a strange thing with idle and need your collective wisdom.

To preface this the O2 sensor was replaced, the van has had a complete tune-up as well with standard new tune-up parts.

THE ISSUE: I have noticed that if I start the van from a cold start that sometimes it take a couple cranks with the starter to to get it started. (Normal?) Battery is new, just 3 months old.

Once it does start it idles at around 1,000 on the gauge. (Normal?), when driving and and at a stop light it hangs at 1,000-1,100 when cold.

If the van is running for a while the idle increases to 1,100-1,400 on the gauge. (Normal?) It feels like itıs revving way to high..

When engine is really hot from a long 3hour trip I saw it go up to 1,500 on the gauge when I was stopped at a stoplight! I new something was wrong then.

Do I need to adjust the idle itself to be lower? Or What needs replacement? Idle stabilizer?

So what do I need to do?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions..
