Subject: Engine modifications needed to run E85?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; format=flowed

Hi,

Since I am rebuilding a digijet based wasserboxer for my 84 westy, I was interested in the story on 60 minutes last night about the ethanol based E85 that is being used in some parts of the country. (and widely in Brazil)

Does anyone know what modifications would be needed to the digijet system to make it compatible with E85? I suspect the injectors might need to be replaced, is the fuel pressure a consideration? What about the catalytic converter? Thanks for any useful information about this.

-Dyer Lytle in Tucson
