Hi List, I've had intermittent ignition problems that seem to get worse when the engine is completely warmed up. The van hesitates and the RPM needle bounces back and forth. Sometimes it gets so bad that I can't even start the van. I've explored the AFM solution, i don't think that's it because it's still a problem immediately after restart. On one occasion i noticed that the coil wasn't sparking at all but I thought the problem was with the hall sensor. I've epoxied the hall sensor in place and made sure I've got no shorts there, cleaned all my grounds, checked my plugs etc but the problem continues. So now i'm wondering if I've got a bad coil. Can these be tested? Can they be rebuilt? Assuming the coil is ok and the hall sensor is ok, can a bad computer tell the coil to stop sparking? Steve |
