Glad you found and fixed the problem.

It's just one more reminder for us that we can't verify a ground by looking at it or touching it to see that it's tight. Those connections must be taken apart, cleaned well then put back together.

Much like when my flasher problem was fixed by unplugging and replugging the spade connectors at the base of the flasher relay. With these old connectors ... a little corrosion goes a long way.
