i had a paulchen once and it easily took three bikes, actually four.
concerning the tandem, i think it depends on the total width, dont know how
far the paulchen tubes can extend (but you could prob fabricate longer
ones?) i recently mounted a recumbent on a fiamma rack and that was no
problem.
