While my test drive yesterday was picture-perfect, when I drove the van this morning it was behaving just as it had been before the swap of Idle Control Module. Problem not solved, or somehow my van has killed the ICM that I swapped in.
David, it is very common for the ICV to malfunction and overload the circuit to the ICU, burning out the BD 438 power transistor. It is normally recommended that both the ICV and the ICU be replaced whenever there is a malfunction of one, unless your absolutely sure the other is good. You should also be installing the updated ICU with the "D" designation as it has a two power transistors rather than one in the "B" designation unit to help prevent the overload burnout problem.
