I've always been interested in hightops for the vanagon. The adventurewagen is lovely, but difficult to find just a top (with bed, etc). It also seems to be the only hightop i can get into my garage. It seems that things such as the highroof joker (on my syncro) would be about 101-102 inches high. The max height i can raise my garage door to is 98 inches. So i'm trying to see if it's possible to dynamically raise and lower the syncro 4 inches or so ... which to me seems like it might as well be 12 feet. From what i gather air-springs may be an option, though i don't quite understand them. Could some one fill me in. of course, when i think about it ... i could buy a decent AW for the price of raiseing the garge door, adding air springs, and shipping a joker top from europe. but then i'd have to dismantle one, and i'm only comfortable doing that to one that's dead. |
