Thanks to John Bange and Eric Zeno for suggesting the correct solution to my idle stabilizer problem. I had convinced myself that the valve was terminally sticky, not even considering that the Idle Control Module was the culprit. Well, fortuneately, I had a spare on hand.

A 5 minute swap later, I had a *very* enjoyable test drive, where the engine consistently dropped to proper idle speed. It will be interesting to see how my gas mileage, especially city driving, will be affected by the fix...the engine was often idling at 1100rpm at stop lights unless I tapped the pedal, and would not cut off fuel flow on deceleration over 2000rpm as it should. I am once again a happy camper!

Thanks also to those who offered to sell me their spare ISV. Clearly I won't be needing those, but I appreciate your offers.
