My idle switch clicks closed when the throttle is completely closed. I can not adjust it to open to the Bentley specs. The switch does not open until the throttle is opened ~.030"-.050" If I adjust this to the .004" spec, the switch never closes. I've cleaned the switch, cam and throttle body. It seems to me that the switch should open and close at the same point. Being new to Vanagons I assume this is a sign that the switch assembly should be replaced. Is that a correct assumption? I thought I'd check before dropping the $70 on a switch. Thanks.
