I have an '85 Westy with the dealer or port of entry installed air conditioner. The dual "speed and temperature" switch is mounted to the left of the steering column.

Anyway ... I opened mine up and cleaned and reworked the contacts as best as I could which restored it to operation but it still runs hot so I'm going to put relays on the speed positions which should make it run cool and last awhile.
