Hi All, I bought a swivel base from an ad on TheSamba.com back in January and had planned on having it welded in to my passenger seat pedestal, but then my Wolfsburg Westy developed a coolant leak which lead to a three month engine transplant adventure. The seat base project got cast aside in favor of actually having a running Vanagon... Finally got around to having the base welded in this weekend. Man! What a difference! It really opens up the living room. It's one of those simple upgrades that just makes a huge impact. It proved its worthiness at the Drive-in here in Denver Saturday night when we had the neighbors (the folks parked next to us in a gigantic Dodge doublecab truck) over for a pre-movie cocktail. As a sidenote, the guy probably paid more than $30k for his behemoth 4x4 assault vehicle thing, but he appeared impressed (jealous?) of my Vanagon. It was the first time they'd been in one and couldn't stop talking about how great a vehicle it is. Joe T. _________________________________________________________________ Don’t just search. Find.
