Chris,

I'm not sure if you have experience with the Cip1 fenders. I've seen front ones in person. They appear thinner than the stock material. They also have wrinkles right in the area were they start to arch downwards. That area does normally get hidden my the carpet or rubber mats. My only concern about them is they will leave pockets which can very quickly rust if water gets in there.

On another note, I bought a brand new right fender arch for Ebay for $26. It was a South African replacement. I never gave it a second thought until this morning that SA vans being RHD might not have the gas filler on the right side. Well, the pics show this arch has no such hole. I guess this is perfect for my Syncro. If the UK and SA vans had holes in the opposite side, that is certainly something good to know for those who may want to add a spare gas tank filler on the driver's side.

BenT,

My RHD 2WD T3 has the fuel filler on the right hand side. My driver's side...your passenger's side.

Perhaps the SA ones being built locally changed sides but they would be the exception as RHD 2WD vans built at Hanover and the final batch at Graz, definitely had the filler on the right side of the vehicle.
