I have the older Att/Cingular and for $9.95/month they wave all Canada roaming charges and my regular minute rates apply. They have let me turn it on or off for two week intervals.

I forgot to mention in my last message that we had called Cingular/AT&T and their charges for use in Canada were only 75 cents a minute, which is why we ended up with the phone card. You also aren't able to switch over to a plan that includes Canada for a short time - has to be for like 6 months or a year.
