Once getting the 16" wheel package, and then a year or so later when I was passing by just to drool over the "collection" out front. One thing I can say about 'em is that they're clean, clean, clean. They're not just restored, but upgraded as well. There are the inevitable age marks, but those things look every bit like they've been gone over with a fine-toothed comb and then some. I think they'll probably move that one for $39K, easy. The thing you apparently get with a GoWesty Vanagon is a fairly solid warranty, which I think to some people is worth a lot. Given that the next best warranty available when buying a used Vanagon is generally "I guarantee it'll run long enough for me to cash your check", a GoWesty Vanagon has a definite advantage for the mechanically unskilled buyer looking for a turnkey T3. Me? I wouldn't pay that much unless maybe I had tons of cash to burn in the form of lottery winnings or some such. I get too much satisfaction out of driving around knowing that I alone turn the wrenches to keep my money-sucker moving. Different kind of Vanagon owner though. Like there are some people willing to shell out tens of thousands for a 21-window splittie restored to car-show perfection.
