I don't have my Bentley at work here, but I think I can picture what you're
saying. Having originally had non-opening wing windows which I replaced with
the opening kind, I'm familiar with both. It sounds like the part of the
Bentley you're looking at is for the non-opening windows. The forward window
guide track for non-openers is just a gently curved metal I-beam sort of
dealie held on at the top and bottom. The OPENING wing windows, however,
have a metal frame rivetted to this I-beam, with the rubber gasket stretched
over it. It gives the window something to attach to. The whole assembly,
when removed, looks kind of like the number 4, and it DOES NOT come apart.
Basically, you get it out by removing ALL the weather stripping and BOTH the
roll-up and wing window glass (you already have the door panel off, right?).
Then, after the top and bottom bolts/screws holding the wing window frame
are out, grab that vertical bar and start yanking it rearwards. Eventually
it will come loose. It's an infuriating puzzle trying to figure out how to
get it out, and even more infuriating to get it back in. It may require the
removal of some of the metal clips that hold the scrapers on, and WILL
require spreading the inner and outer metal of the door to get the lower
bracket to pass. For putting the rubber back, I suggest vaseline and plenty
of it. The rubber seems to like it and it makes forcing it in a bit easier.
I ended up having to seat the wing window frame with a mallet and a bit of
2X4. Nothing a good pounding won't cure!
