I think that's why the Mercedes salesman said there was no market here.....when you start to talk of spending $60-80k on a van camper, he thinks people are more inclined to shop for a regular full size RV instead of a van. Would a new Westphalia vanagon cost that much today? Perhaps... Anthony

the sprinter james cook is available in the U.S., under the name of airstream. the list price is around $80k, but it typically retails for around $60k. You can have 4WD added, but for that you would have to take it on a little tour through europe and drop by at iglhaut in southern germany which makes the excellent conversion with everything you could ever dream of, including low gears if you wish so. in addition there is rumor that sportsmobile is developing a poptop for the 2007 sprinter, and as they are also into 4wd conversions, mayb we have a chance here in the long run?
