Funny you should mention, a couple days ago I was watching the escalator repair guy at work taking off a whole string of rusted, rounded off bolt heads. He was using this weird 3/8 drive socket with 6 angled ridges inside instead of a hex shape. The box the sockets were in said "IRWIN Bolt-Grip". He swore by them, saying they never failed, grabbing on to and remove rounded off bolts that wouldn't even budge with vise grip pliers

Doing an internet search, it looks like Home Despot even carries them.
