David Marshall used to sell mirrors from the VW LT that are a nice upgrade to the vanagon. I did not see them for sale on his website any more but there are still photos of what they look like installed:

I think they're great and I actually bought a set on eBay.de (German eBay). Unfortunately when I got them the bolt pattern did not match on the bottom so I could not figure out how to install them. I imagine I have just bought the wrong type, though I am thinking of just drilling them out a bit.
