That's the second suggestion to convert the 82 to carb I have received, I haven't even thought of that before and I even remember how to work on carbs. I agree that if want to stay with the stock engine then I should just get my local mechanic to fix the FI problemt. That would solve the FI problems but it still would not get me the power and reliabliltiy that I would get if I converted to a a more modern engine. Just from my experience, you have had this one for 11 years...you know more about it than the other somewhat unknown quantity. It would be worth paying someone which would never come in the lines of 4500 bucks to figure out your FI problem. Heck, couldn't a whole new system be put in for 4500!??!

Go with what you know...that's what I say...
