Geez, is this an annual ritual on this list? :-)

After much experimentation and weighing of Vanagons of all types, I run equal pressures front and rear in three vans. The 84 GL with 14" Bridgestone car tires ( leave it fellas) gets 36 PSI, the 86 Weekender (sorry TJ) with 15" Yokohama car tires gets 44 PSI and the 91 Westfalia with 14" Agilis truck tires gets 44 PSI as well. Agility is improved, understeer is reduced, and ride is excellent in all three.

The factory pressures make no sense to me, given that the load on the front tires is 200 pounds or more than on the rears. Try it, you have nothing to lose!
