At eight bucks (86+ 2WD) or twenty bucks (pre-86, all syncros) a pop, I'd replace Temp2 whether I knew it was bad or not. Of course that's my typical repair method-- swap parts until the symptom disappears. Now I have a whole box of good-used parts that AREN'T the cause of my intermittent misfire, just waiting for my NEXT vanagon... Yeah, a bad Temp2 will bugger your emissions pretty good.
