Dear Volts,

Thanks to all for the advice, both list and pmail. It was spot on.

Bad ground. Tested good when I put the probe on it, I suppose because of the
pressure. Then without the pressure very poor connection.

Found it by pulling each and every connection and checking it physically as
well as electrically.
