i don't post all of my 'vanagon sightings' on this list, since i live in
colorado's front range and i see numerous vanagons every day.  but this one
was fun:

i was heading north on folsom in boulder on friday evening (on my way to see
les claypool at the boulder theater!)  i stopped at the light next to a
burgundy westy, i waved to the guy driving (and his dog), and when the light
turned, we both stepped on it.  i didn't completely floor it, but i let it
wind up to 4500 before each shift.  he seemed to do the same, so we were
neck and neck until we got to pearl and i had to turn left.  i bet we looked
kinda funny to the other folks around us.  that burgundy had a newish
exhaust, oem but very shiny.  that, and the engine sounded throatier than
wbx.  too fun!  peace, brother, if you're out there.
