Years ago I had a stock 69 beetle with snow tires on...my buddy had a 68 almost identical...we were having fun...

One day during the start of a heavy snowfall with about a foot on the ground we found ourselves at the same stoplight a block from our houses...

Light turned green, and I actually got into third with wheels-a-spinning in the snow before I got thru the intersection....so we parked in our driveway and around the corner came captain spinout with his lights all a glow...

It was a 50 mph area, we might have gotten up to 30 in that one block, but he charged us both with racing...in the snow no less..

"The attention of everyone in the plaza was drawn to these two vehicles racing" - it was 11PM, and all the stores except the donut store he was coming out of were closed

"Wheels spinning, they were all over the road" - The roads were empty (only people dumb enough to be out were us...nothing stopped my beetle in the snow), and we both had snows on with stock (quiet) exhaust...peeee shooters even

Finally the judge asked me if I was there (after the officer purgered himself three times...)

Yes I was your honor...says I...

"Guilty as charged" he says...$150 plus costs of the court....

I didn't drive for almost a month while I saved up to pay the ticket...LOL

Den.
