Unfortunately while taking a break over the memorial day weekend, then
taking a few weeks to get resubscribed to the vanagon list, my motor das
kaput.


So im purchasing a rebuilt longblock and the local Mechanic is
removing/installing for me.


Is this a good time to also ______ ?


Im throwing around the usual suspects, external oil cooler, perhaps some
guages to monitor my new rebuild?




It isn't that warm here on the northern california coast, so I dont know
that an oil cooler would be really worth it, but perhaps a CHT guage
from Dakota Digital?


any tips, suggestions or misc tomfoolery welcomed.
