Well, you could try and build your own Digitool using Darrell Boehler's notes <http://www.loam.org/vw/Vanagon/DigiTool/>, but like he says, it ain't nuthin' you can't do with a digital multimeter and a stickpin already. At eight bucks (86+ 2WD) or twenty bucks (pre-86, all syncros) a pop, I'd replace Temp2 whether I knew it was bad or not. Of course that's my typical repair method-- swap parts until the symptom disappears. Now I have a whole box of good-used parts that AREN'T the cause of my intermittent misfire, just waiting for my NEXT vanagon... Yeah, a bad Temp2 will bugger your emissions pretty good. If Temp2 shows more than 400-500 ohms resistance with the coolant up to operating temperature, you'll run way too rich. -- John Bange '90 Vanagon - "Geldsauger"
