The steering wheel for my Chevy work van used to do the same thing. I picked up a leather steering wheel cover at the FLAPS and it fixed that right up. It's a LOT of work to stich on, but worth it. I liked it so much that I put one on my factory Vanagon steering wheel. Now I even quit beating myself up over not buying a SA steering wheel back when I had the chance. PS: get the more expensive one ($18-20 I think) that's a band of leather sewed in a loop. Works better than the cheap ones.
