Subject: 91 fridge not lighting
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed

Hi:

The fridge in my 91 westy is not lighting on propane. Do I need to replace the electronic ignitor?

The fridge: this is the stock 90-91 style Dometic 182B EGI with auto electronic ignition.

The symptoms: When I try to light it, the little red display at upper right glows briefly, then goes out. In other words, the red light doesn't flash, and I don't hear the normal clicking sound. I think its not sparking.

The fridge works on DC. After plugging it in with 60-70 temps outside, I get cooling that is possibly ok but maybe slow: start 84 deg F 2 hr 60 4 hr 51 20 hr 38

Do you think I need to replace the ignitor ($172)? What about the "spark plug with cable"? thermocouple?

And does it seem to be cooling with DC reasonably well?

Thanks, Bill Boulder
