Subject: Craigslist parts score!
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed

Yesterday, I saw an ad for vanagon parts that went like this: "I have 2 starters, 2 alternators,2 fuel pumps, they were extra parts for a 88 vw-vanagon- $10 each or $45- for all. I do not know if they will work for other vw or not. I know they are pricey and hard to find."

I called the number, and was sufficiently interested to set up a buy for the lot. After work, I go over there and meet the guy, who is selling these parts left him by a friend who moved overseas. Once I look over the parts, which includes an ECU that wasn't listed, he tells me he just wants the storage space back and will give me the ECU, a weathered Bentley, and a radiator and condensor for an extra $10. So, for $55, I got quite the parts buy...assuming that the parts test out well. If the ECU is good, that makes the buy a good one all by itself. Even if it doesn't, I was thinking just yesterday about how to get a dead ECU to steal the connector to make a "T" adapter for a Digitool. Either way, I'm glad I checked craigslist yesterday!

-- Cheers!
