Although weighting the rear of the van is usually done, I would strongly advise against it. As an alternative, I would advise purchasing tupperware containers, filling them with sand or other weight and putting them under the rear seat.

(all this to counteract the inevitable spin that would occur with all the weight in the far rear like an old porsche)
