Dear Westfalian, I did it! I drove to the US last weekend and road tested the new Sprinter based Westfalia. (The new Sprinter Westfalia is not sold in Canada ) I love my Volkwagen Westy but I could not resist to go see a new Sprinter Westy. It is a fantastic van that I could not afford before but the price are going down and the Canadian $$ going up. Sprinter Westy are also not selling well in the US. I talked to the dealer and he told me that for the price, csutomers are buying the full size RVs. I know this forum if for older Westy but I need help from Canadian that may be looking at the Sprinter Westy. Airstream, the exclusive dealer for the new Westfalia, did not list the Westfalia with Tranport Canada as an Admissible vehicule for import making the purchase in the US impossible for us I am in communciation with Airstream but in order to convice them that Canada is a land of mosquitos and Westy, I woudl like to know 1.Has anyone improted or tired to import this van to Canada and 2. Are interested in importing a Sprinter? Send me an email. Maybe if we can joint force and convice Airstrean or Westfalia Germany to sell in Canada. Thanks again. Joel Note : I will always be a Westy lover but she is so pretty that my heart could not resist....

Martine, don't know for sure but the Sprinter chassis is sold all over Canada so why would the Sprinter Westfalia not be allowed in ? Have you talked to Transport Canada ? Next thing is why do you like that thing ? Rita & I spent a lot of time tracking one down on our trip back from Mexico in April. We finally found one at a dealer near Syracuse, NY. The minute we saw it we were sick ! It is way too high and looks to have a tumour growing on top. The insides are nice though. We never did test drive it but the dealer kept saying it handles like a dream. I can't keep from wondering how long it would last on those Curvas Peligrossas in Mexico before tipping over and tumbling down a ravine ! Then to make matters worse the UPS and Purolator guys that deliver stuff to me have nothing but bad comments to say about the Sprinter. They are ALWAYS in the shop for one thing or another. Sounds to me like another feat of "German" engineering gone astray. Just my $.02 worth !

Cheers,
