Joe,

About 1 1/2 years ago we bought a device of this type for our daughter. It's the Belkin Tunebase FM for the Ipod Mini. She seems to use it happily in her Cher*kee. It plugs into the lighter socket and holds the Ipod in a socket on a stalk; charges the Ipod as well as broadcasts on a frequency selected on a digital display. Her present Ipod nano also works in the socket, tho it sits in there a little skewed. Sometimes while traveling cross-country it is necessary to change frequencies depending on the local radio stations. On a recent trip in my GL it also worked quite well, transmitting to my $80 Aiwa. Note that I have replaced the loose and poorly mounted stock lighter socket with a more sturdy one from FLAPS. YMMV The Belkin was about $80 then, from B&H Photo in NYC. I believe there are various other brands available now.
