I've always been partial to paint, because you can bang the bejeevus out of it and just repaint. Plus I think chrome tube bumpers look funny, but that's maybe just me.

in fact, getting buried in my vanagon.. not a bad idea

The parking valets where I work make cash on the side "flipping" cars-- buy cheap, wash-wax-repair, sell for more. They've been hounding me for my precioussss since I got it. "Get back!" I tell them, "I plan to be buried in it."
