Subject: Clutch Hydraulic line fittings?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

I recently replaced the slave cylinder and the master cylinder for the clutch in my '82 A/C Vanagon. That led to the discovery that the rubber hose was shot, which led to the discovery that all the parts in the clutch hydraulic line were fused together. I ended up cutting the end off of the main line that goes from the master cylinder all the way back to the rubber hose. In order to get on the road again, I went to my local FLAPS bought a brass compression fitting and put it in to bridge the gap between where I cut off the main line and the rubber hose. It works but it is less than ideal and I am nervous that the fitting will blow. Since then I have gotten access to a bender and a flanging tool so I can do the repair correctly. I want to replace the entire main clutch hydraulic line. My question is, what are the specifics (thread size, etc.) of the fittings that will go on each end of the hydraulic line and where can I obtain them? When I'm done all of the clutch hydraulics will be brand new and hopefully I won't have to worry about them for awhile. Jim Stout Madison, WI '82 Westy-"Ol' Blew"
