Subject: Where to mount cupholders?

I bought several of those German folding cupholders a while back but never

Found the time to mount them up front in the van.

Do people have recommendations where the best place to mount them?

I have seen examples where listees have put them:

On the seat pedestal right below the thigh

On the seat pedestal on the center inside

On the plastic heater core shroud just below the radiator*

I want to make sure to locate the holders somewhere where they will not catch anything by accident or where I might kick a BIG GULP to the sky.

Who's camping this weekend??? I will be Derusting the van along with armrest tightening, carpet scrubbing, oil change, cupholder mounting...blah blah blah..

* How is that shroud attached? Clips? Seems a heavy drink would pull it off....
